Frequently Asked Questions
Based on the colouring and thickness of your natural lashes, and what you tell us about what sort of look you are trying to achieve, we will to advise you which option to go for, in terms of how long it will take and how much it will cost.
We also recommend that for 24 hours before your appointment, you do not use any creams around eye area. Some creams contain oils and moisturizers that may cause damage to the bond between eyelashes and the adhesive, therefore making the lash extensions fall out prematurely.
For this reason, we advise that you visit the salon before your appointment so we can assess the natural thickness and color of your own lashes. Based on this, and what you tell us about the lash look you are going for, Madame lash technician will be able to recommend which grade of appointment to book in for, and the length of time and price of this appointment.
If you decide once you see your lashes on that you want more or less lashes applied, we will always try and accommodate this and change the cost of your appointment accordingly.
In order to maintain the fullness of the lashes and to keep their perfect appearance, we recommend that you maintain your lashes with infill appointments every 2-4 weeks. Although the average cycle of a single lash is about 90-120 days, factors such as your eyelash characteristics, lifestyle and general care of your eyelashes will affect how long your semi-permanent lash extensions will last.
Do not wash your eyes, and try to avoid crying, sweat, and steam for 24 hours after the application of your semi-permanent lashes.
Do not swim or use a spa for 48 hours after lash application to allow adequate time for bonding.
Be gentle with your lashes — avoid rubbing and pulling your eyelashes.
Avoid oil-based and waterproof mascara. Only our specially formulated mascara for extensions can be worn. Regular mascara is not recommended for use as it will dissolve the bond with the lashes. Gently remove mascara with water-based eye makeup remover. Apply mascara on the tips only.
Avoid any creams, eye makeup removers/ wipes, lotions, sunscreens or cleansers containing oils on or near your eyelashes. Oils can loosen the bond of lash extensions. Care must be taken to apply eye cream sparingly with avoidance of the lash line area.
Do NOT crimp your extensions; instead use the soft heat from our Ion lash heater.
